From my calculations I need to reapply on the 20th of February 2022, in order to reach the optimial timespan for later applying for ILR. Is that right?
Okay, you can apply up to 28 days before you reach 30 months (2.5 years in the UK).
If you arrived on 19th July 2019, you will reach 30 months on 19th January 2022.
So, you can apply for the next visa at any time between:
22nd December 2021 and 20th March 2022.
You can apply for ILR any time from 21st June 2024 (28 days before reaching 5 years in the UK)... so you just need to make sure that your FLR(M) (valid 30 months) will not expire until after that date.
If you will be using standard processing (8 weeks), it won't really matter when you apply as the new visa won't start until it is issued... so say you applied next week, attended biometrics in early January, and then the visa was issued in early March 2022, it would be valid until early September 2024.... which would give you about a 2.5-month window to apply for ILR, between 21st June and early Sept 2024.
The only issue could be if you applied in December 2021 AND you used the £800 Super Priority service for a decision within 24 hours of biometrics... because say you applied on 22nd December and managed to get biometrics on the 23rd (though this is unlikely as it usually takes at least a couple of weeks to get an appointment)... the visa would be valid from Dec 23rd 2021 to June 23rd 2024, which would only give you a 2-day window to apply for ILR (June 21st to June 23rd 2024)!
