I’m a British citizen now…timeline
« on: January 11, 2022, 07:04:01 AM »
Well, it’s over…although Lewisham really skimped on the ceremony and I even had to have one of my fellow new citizens take a photo of me and the Queen. No mini flag either or guests :(

Application: 05/10/2021
Biometrics: 07/10/2021 (I paid £200 because I have anxiety and didn’t want to fight for the free/cheap appointments)
Approval email: 13/12/2021
Original ceremony: 20/12/2021 (I had to postpone because Omicron got me three days before)
Ceremony: 10/01/2022

Thanks to everyone who’s provided advice in the past, from before I was applying for the fiancé visa. I’ve already applied to be in the electoral roll and am sending my ID documents for my passport.

Congratulations!

It must've been so frustrating when you had to postpone your ceremony.  But it's done now!  You are officially official.   :)

Congratulations!  I'm sorry the ceremony was a let down.  Did they give you a gift?  I got a 99p passport wallet off of eBay.  A friend got a gorgeous medal/coin from her council.  I know which one I would have rather!  But, most importantly, my family all has a shared nationality and we can live here without the government deciding if we can or not (any longer).

GO CELEBRATE THIS WEEKEND!!!!!!
