Spouse Visa Documents
« on: January 28, 2022, 01:35:20 AM »
Hi, can I the sponsor upload and submit the supporting documents on behalf of my wife here in the UK? I am just thinking it is much easier and cheaper and to avoid VFS Global.

I know she will still have to visit VFS to do Biometrics etc, but will she need proof of the documents to take to her appointment?

I'm not quite sure what you mean here - it's easiest and also free to upload documents via VFS Global and I believe either the sponsor or the applicant can do that. All you need to do is log into the VFS Global website and upload them... or you can email your  documents to the applicant so they can upload them.

All other means of submitting documents cost extra money:

1. Applicant or sponsor uploads the documents to the VFS Global website = Free

2. Applicant mails the documents to New York for them to scan = $75 for just the scanning, or $120 for scanning plus return shipping

3. Sponsor mails the documents to Birmingham for them to scan = £100
(or they can drop the documents off in person at either Birmingham, Edinburgh or London)

4. Applicant attends a Premium Centre to give biometrics and submit the documents in person = £1,200 (or £2,000 if purchasing the priority processing service)
... this option is a complete waste of money and is not recommended.

The only things that the applicant needs to take to biometrics are their passport and their biometrics appointment confirmation letter, which will be scanned at the appointment.
