Apologies for this question being a duplicate, but I feel my earlier question wasn't clear/specific enough.
One of my referees is an out-of-town friend who cares for an elderly parent, and he and I are trying to figure out a way for him to do the refereeing without undue COVID risks. We'd like to do as much as possible online, certainly avoid unnecessary travel / in-person meeting, while also reducing reliance on Royal Mail (flaky since lockdown in my experience).
Could someone who has done an online citizenship application check if my understanding of the process, below, is correct?
- I (the applicant) will be filling the referee details (DOB, profession, passport number etc.) as part of the online application form. (We will probably do this together, using Zoom and screen sharing.)
- When the application is electronically submitted (or earlier?), I will be instructed to download referee forms and print them out.
- I attach photos and get the referees to sign / date. I will then scan the forms and upload to the UKVCAS site before or at the biometric appointment.
I will probably send the printed form with the photo to the referee by snail mail. He will sign/date/scan it and send the scan back to me by e-mail; I will then upload it to UKVCAS.
Is the hard copy of the referee form required at any time?
Thanks a lot!
