Are we talking HMRC SA or IRS 1040 or both?

It's the 2555, 1040...

How do I write on the form if there's only space to write one job information.

Thank you

I’ve only had to do this for a single employer but I see your challenge.

In lines 19 through 22 on the 2555 form I would total up the income from the jobs and then squeeze in multiple address on the employer address line, or enter “multiple employers”. If this is a paper return you can attach another sheet with the employer addresses on it.

It's a long time ago now, but I think I had to use two 2555's (one for each employer). As for the 1040, I list the primary occupation for the year. so for example; a surgeon for 11 months and retired for 1, then surgeon would be put on to the 1040. Probably no harm in simply putting Surgeon/Retired.... It's to validate income to job. If you have 100k income and  'House Person' as occupation, then all sorts of flags would raise.

I've worked more than 1 job while living in the USA and in that case it is easy, you put a new W2 for each employer and the total is summarized on line 1040.  If you can put in multiple 2555's in a similar way then that is the way to go.  Just make sure the total on the 1040 of the multiple jobs is correct.

This seems to be  common question on many forums and the IRS is stum when it comes to guidance.

The general consensus is to put your primary employer details down - most likely to be your current (or last employer) - it's an easy question to answer if the IRS come calling
