Yeah well ... the sad fact is somebodys got to do it.
And George Wubba is strapping on his six shooters  [smiley=cowboy.gif] soooooo .....

I'm not crazy about it at all  because it means I'll have friends and family deployed but the thought of Saddam with the big guns scares me even more. [smiley=bomb.gif]

yeah, yeah, you people probably eat pizza with a knife and fork too.   :)

Is there any other way?

...... my wife had never before seen anyone eat ribs with a knife and fork either, and she is still amazed that (i) I can and (ii) I manage to strip the bones clean without ever needing to use my fingers.

Not only was I stunned to see this at Tesco's the other day, but I was even more downhearted that no one in the States would probably believe me if I told them... It was canned, and I kid you not, called "Omelet, Chips and Beans." Hmmm. Which two of those should never be canned? :) Next, it will be "Canned Angel Food Cake," or "Canned Cotton Candy."

As for the Royal Navy trying to sneak up the Hudson, may I remind you, you tried that once ... ONCE :D)

Er... No feistylilredhead, they tried it twice - and beat the stuffing out of us the last time!

Okay I maybe missing something in my memory of maritime battles, but if I remember correctly, the War of 1812 (to which you are referring) was fought on land (Canada and the US) and of course on the Great Lakes. They burned Washington true, but we took a hell of alot of their Navy down with us and they suffered some nasty land defeats in the US and in Canada - hence the reason the war was declared a stalemate, after we won the Battle of New Orleans. Hardly had the 'stufing beat out of us' I would dare to say, otherwise they might have gotten us back  :o ;D :o     hee hee  ;)
We didn't win Canada, however we got the lakes and assured America's independence once and for all.

The Hudson and Hudson Valley was the scene of one of Washingtons' greater battles as he fought to hold onto New York. As far as I remember that's the only battle the Hudson is known for .....(not saying I'm not wrong, I just really don't remember any battle of the Hudson in 1812)

As for the War of 1812 - well we declared it ... not the British, so you had to expect them to show up somehow, I guess Canada seemed like the easiest way in  ;D :D ;D

So, Fiestylilredhead's specialist subject is 'The War of 1812'.  Fiesty, your questions begin now...

LOL ... well what can I say, everyone has to have a hobby, mine's always been military history. I used to help my buddy cram for his West Point exams, so that didn't hurt either.

Personally, I think I watched way too much School House Rock as a kid  ;D  ;) ;D

It was the shot heard round the world. It was the start of the Revolution, the minutemen were ready on the move. Take your powder, take your gun, report to General Washington, hurry now there's not a second to lose .... [smiley=laugh4.gif]
See, I told you  [smiley=devilish.gif]

Hey, Feisty!!  I'm not too sure about the "Independent once and for all" bit......

I am in the middle of planning a small trip - just me and a few friends in a pleasure yacht to re-colonise the States.   :o ;D

On second thoughts, maybe I'll cancel that trip.  All we'd do is change it back to a vast England!!!  The whole value of America is you Americans - so wonderfully different while looking so similar.  We'd ruin the place!  Panic over, Feisty - the US is safe again.   ;D

It's at Tesco's honest.  :)

I've had it, heck there's even two boxes at the house.  ;)

Tho it's the classic el-cheapo kind with the powdered cheese.

(Which if you grew up on it is wonderful, but if not...lol!)

Kraft shells and cheese... I'm going to make sure my sister brings one when she comes in July. I've been really craving mac and cheese. I tried the canned stuff, never been so sick in all my life.
