It really did.  I walked out of the theater with an overwhelming sense of annoyance.  I'm still trying to sort out my thoughts as to why.

it's because you secretly belong to the house of slytherin, isn't it?

The whole DA sign up sheet (a plain white piece of xerox paper ??? ) bugged me, along with it being Cho Chang who "betrayed" everyone. Where were the pustules?! I wanted some hexing going on!

I've taken a few of those silly "what hogwarts  house would you be in" quizzes online and mine always say Ravenclaw. I'm not a huge scholarly-type though. I'm pretty outgoing, so I think I would probably be more of a Gryffindor. I'm not sneaky enough (or subtle enough!) to be a Slytherin!

i agree.  they not only took stuff out (which is fine since the book is crazy long) but they actually CHANGED things.  not cool.  this was my least favorite book- kind of the transition or prep book- so i wasn't expecting much.

dying for the book- at least i'll get my fix that way. in case you're wondering wikky has a good entry for HP book 7- it lists the threads from previous books that need to be tied up in #7.  over the last 3 months i've reread 1-6, but i still had forgotten some of these tidbits...

I agree completely.

A friend of mine made some good points here:

We finally saw it last night, and I agree with quite a few of your friend's points, Meg. Especially the part about the Snape/James/etc flashback. To me, that was a crucial part of the book and shouldn't have been glossed over in the movie the way it was. It was so quick that it lost all impact!

Overall, though, I did like the film. Just hearing the HP music at the beginning had me squirming with excitement!  ;D

I actually leaned over to my husband just as the movie was starting and said, "Let me get it out of my system now.... SQUEE!" ;D

Now that I've had some time to digest, I'm in happier place about the film.  I'm ready to see it again and enjoy the wizardy goodness.

Just a quick note to say that any and all spoilers for HP7 should be discussed here.
