Hi folks
Just a wee post to say hello and touch base as I reach the end of my immigration journey - I've finally applied for citizenship. It was the recent spooky news about changes to ILR (not retrospective, but still...) that made me bite the £1700 bullet and do it.
I had my 'appointment' earlier this week. I was out of the office, which was based in a HOTEL, before my scheduled time of appointment even began.
Now comes the wait, but I've seen on Reddit that naturalisation has been quick recently, esp. for ILR spouses.
Anyways, thanks for all your support over the years. I used to be a semi-frequent poster and daily reader. Its been a long and winding journey since I first went through immigration at Glasgow Airport at 17 years old a received a simple stamp in my passport that allowed me open travel in and out of the country for the next four years, plus the right to work (20 hours in term time, 40 outwith). My how times have changed, but as always, the UK is my home.
All the best, my friends.
