I know that waiting times vary but I applied in early May last year and got my passport and ILR back in mid June so it was about six weeks.

Best of luck!

Thank you!  OK, so that is not so bad at all then.  Hoping that is how long it takes for ours as well.

Is it me or does this ILR apt. come up around the most stressful times of our lives?

Here you are having your first baby right at that time- we had just moved, I was diagnosed with a thyroid disorder, we were told our daughter's speech problem was really more serious than anyone thought, we had three sets of guests and I got an important letter that needed a lot of sorting out, and finances were a mess because of just having moved.......

Though I have lived out of the US for ten years, I was always just a visitor in the other places I have lived and I had to come to grips with the fact that I may never live in the US again, and that my children might be reared only here.  I found that difficult- then I was stressed that it might cause some kind of family separation.

I mean, I was not an easy person to live with back then.....
