But you're on the Isle of Man, right?  That's not part of Britain, ie England, Wales, Scotland (isn't it classed a terrority of the UK?)
Given that Manx has its own passport (I didn't know that myself!) does that mean you'd need a separate permit to work in Britain and would you be able to get British citizenship?

I know there are a lot of rules regarding the Channel Islands as well.  Someone my wife knows is from Jersey and he was looking to get a mortgage in England and they were giving him all kind of grief because he didn't have British citizenship and because of the tax haven status of Jersey.
And the world first spoke to me in Sensurround

From my limited knowledge........I don't think Manx ppl have to get a work permit to work in England BUT if you came here you would.....and as far as I know a Manx passport is still classed as a GB passport...it has different wording on it and it is maroon...We can't get some things like ppl in the UK can.. alot of credit cards, they won't issue to Manx ppl...David got a loan from someone in the UK for our new car last year...we just remortaged the house to be able to build an extension and we got it thru HSBC........but I suppose that would be HSBC offshore.....

So I am assuming by getting a Manx passort which is still classed as GB citizenship I would then be a GB citizen???

It's all confusing to me... [smiley=dizzy2.gif]
