Last night thanks to this thread we decided to make some eggnog but as the recipes in the Joy of Cooking said chill for 3 hours!!  we said ah heck with it, and just poured some brandy into the store-bought generic eggnog my mom already had on hand.  Today we are going to do the real stuff - I think my mom wants to do the cooked version (salmonella fears!) but I might try MEFarrelly's recipe!

No worries about salmonella if you age it properly! Read this:

Don't know if it's true or not, but the eggnog didn't last long enough in my house to find out anyway!  :P
