So I had a c-sec under a general anaesthetic on 12 March. At the hospital I was on morphine for pain control and then they switched me to Tramadol and paracetamol - which they also sent me home with. To that, ibuprofen was added.
You may recall from my constant moaning that I had a very bad cough for pretty much the last 2 months of my pregnancy. This has yet to go away though the Tramadol seems to suppress the cough. But, I can't take that forever. So obviously I've been reducing how much of this I take with a view to getting off it completely by the end of the week.
Right now I'm only taking the Tramadol at night (2 hourly feeds necessiate a cough and pain-free few hours!). During the day, and the few nights I've not taken the Tramadol, I have a lot of achiness. Not just in my abdomen, but my whole body. Almost like the aches you'd get with flu. But aside from the cough that won't go away (doc says it should...) I just have nasal congestion. No other symptoms of illness.
So, after all that rambling, is general body achiness something you can expect after surgery? Along with the usual fatigue and all that? Or is it more likely part of this endless cough/cold?
Also, anyone else had any trouble getting the c-sec scar to heal up completely? The midwives tell me it's fine but it's still moist and doesn't seem to be healing up nearly as fast as it did the last time. I'm dying for some neosporin but I can't find my littel tube of it!
Sorry for the wittering... just getting tired of not feeling like myself still!
