I am also reserving judgement.  It is not uncommon for the Doctor to be a relatively unknown quantity, it is only really with the last two that there has been all this hype over it, and I think we should wait and see how he actually is before deciding if he is going to be crap or not.

As anyone is entitled to their opinion, my post are my first impressions, which I'm also entitled to. Whether he is crap as the actual character, is and will be subjective and remains to be seen. His age won't change (substantially) before his debut as The Doctor, and as this is my main disappointment, my opinion today is still "meh". 8)

Debate over the choice to cast Matt Smith as the Eleventh Doctor is primarily concentrated here, for anyone interested in contributing to that thread.
