I do like that!!!  Other half pushing for peach cobbler and homemade ice cream...

Oooh, that would be my choice too!

I've become incredibly lazy with dinner parties lately and alays fall back on lasagne and meat loaf because I can put them together ahead of time and then just stick them in the oven. I used to be much more ambitious and did a lot of risottos, stuffed chicken breasts, etc.  I really want to get back into being clever!

I'd say peach pie studded with raspberries for desert, but that's just me.  ;)

I don't think that's lazy at all, actually. It's practical and can help you enjoy your dinner party and guests without the stress of something too faffy.

Totally agree!

My sister has been having dinner party's a lot since she moved into her newly bought apartment.  She makes Turkey Meatloaf most of the time.  It's a big hit ;D

I'm not a meatloaf fan though my family loves it. In fact, my mate at work asked me to bring her some...think folks are intrigued as it's such a yankee meal.... Mate loved it to bits  :o  I've done lasagna for them years ago and they really liked the american version with ricotta and not that bechamel that gets served up here... :-X

I went with a halloumi starter with a coriander chili dressing, then jambalaya and i've just pulled corn bread and peach cobbler out of the oven and am waiting on the whiskey vanilla ice cream to finish... And that's after decorating 3 dozen cupcakes for a mate's bday first thing this morning, so I am cupcaked out! But they did turn out fab and she was very pleased... :D

OMG!  Whiskey ice cream sounds soooo good!  We've done Guiness before, but I think whiskey would be so much better.

Get your skates on! Bring the cherub!!!!

The ice cream came out super soft but man, does it have a little kick in it! ;D  Should go great with the cobbler which I threw some cinnamon and nutmeg in as well...
