Goods, I am in South Minneapolis.  Not far from the St Paul border!  I am staying at my mom's house and it is NOT the best situation.  But I am surviving!  The cold here sucks and so does the snow.  I want to go back to the Scottish rain! :)  How did you end up in England if you are with a Scotsman!  lol  My hubby would rather gouge out his eye than live "south of the border"  lol.  I love England though and have plans to visit friends all over the country when I get back ;D
I never in a million years thought I would miss Dumbarton, but right now I even miss the cows of Dumbarton!  I miss my husband so much.  And I HATE the cold!
Met and fell in love with a Scotsman in early 2007.  Moved to Scotland early 2009.  Had to come back to the US in June 2009 to deal with idiot government employees who screwed up my daughter's passport.  Finally back in Scotland, March 9 2010.  Yes I did fly a 16 hour flight with 3 children and 2 plane changes!

You're well on your way to getting the other Blue passport (Scottish). What? That didn't happen? Must have dreamt that.  ;) It could happen. Unlikely but ...

No offense to anyone living in England, it is a very lovely country too, but I used to always say if I had to take employment doon yonder, I would return to the US. Now I am older and wiser, if I had to take up employment doon yonder, I would return to Burma. Joking! Think we have unemployment problems, I have a BIL (Burmese) that went to Qatar to work in a fast food place.

But seriously I would struggle down there. It's just so so crowded. I mean we b*tch and moan about traffic going into Aberdeen. And it adds maybe 10 minutes on my dual carriage way time. But the horrors stories about traffic congestion there sounds awful. We have some 5 million people and a whole lot of space. Doon there is some 55 million people. Too many, too close for a country boy at heart.

But I must add that if my true love was an English rose and was firmly rooted in the shires, I'd die unloved.  :\\\'(

Yea right, I'd be like the rest of ya'll and be there in a heartbeat.  :)

Still tired of coteries and bans. But hanging about anyway.

I have a friend who lives right over the river, right by University of Minnesota's Dean's house (off of Lake Street).  Nice area and a great diner with banana pancakes on your side... can't remember the name of the place though.

Yeah Minnesota cold is harsh.  I was working and living in north Minnesota this summer and we never really warmed up.  International Falls had the coldest recorded summer in history... brrrr!  Perhaps I missed this but any idea when you'll be coming back to the UK?

I am down in England with my Scotsman because he is a lecturer at a Uni in Northern England and I am getting my Masters, I think if he had an opportunity to work in Scotland he would.

Well best of luck staying warm and enjoy Minneapolis when you can, eat a juicy lucy and drink a grain belt beer for me   ;D
