The girls like playing Uno,Bingo, Ludo, and Snakes and Ladders (Shutes and Ladders).  Monopoly and Monopoly JR are fun as well.
I bought Cranium Family Edition a few weeks ago and I'm hoping we get around to playing it soon.
We have about 6 different packs of Top Trumps as well.

A few of my favorites growing up were Scattergories, Jenga, Trivial Pursuit and UNO.

Trivial Pursuit also does a family game with two sets of questions - junior ones and harder ones for the grownups!

All of those are great suggestions. My family also like Balderdash which can be played in teams so while it's probably for older folks, kids can play with adults. Probably still too old for your boys, S, at least for Alex, but maybe not...
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

The ones mentioned are all very good, but I'd add Mancala to the list.  Great game for all ages!

GREAT suggestions! Thanks everyone!

I can't wait to check these out, especially the ones I've never played (Aggravation, Balderdash, Ludo, and Mancala).

When we were growing up we loved Upwords as an easier version of Scrabble.  Also lots that other people have mentioned, like Clue, Candyland, Guess Who, Scrabble, Boggle, Mastermind, and Risk.

More recently we've also gotten into Ticket to Ride, which is my current favorite game, though the recommended age is 8 and up.

I think Monopoly is a great game for getting everyone irritated.   ;D

I never had a game end without someone flipping the board over, but my friends were always a little hot tempered.

I loved Life.  My bil LOVES, loves, loves (no really) boardgames and I think Ticket to Ride is a really good game.

Also, Apples to Apples is good as well and was really popular with people at grad school.  My niece really likes the kids version, even if they do need to change some of the phrases since it is American.  (Like 4th of July becomes Guy Fawkes hee)

This is so true! At least for me and my hubby it is. We can't play Monopoly without us getting irritated at each other. He actually refuses to play it now.  ::) Not like I care since he is the one who cheats!  ;D

LOL!!!!!!  ;D I have one particular close friend that I can't play board games with because we always get too competitive with each other and start fighting.  :P DH doesn't really like board games as much, so he doesn't usually play with me.

Yeah, It's serious trouble for us. LOL  [smiley=argue.gif]

I know it may not be kid friendly but I love playing Dominoes! It's probably my all time favorite table game.

My family always had "family rules" for board games.
So, for Clue(do!), my sister got an extra guess (when she was little)
and in Trivial Pursuit, my dad and I had to play by ourselves, but my sister and my mom could play as a team and ask my dad and me for help! (I'm just over a year older than my sis).
We loved Trivial Pursuit, though. And Taboo.  I've also heard excellent things about the "Settlers of Catalan" series.

When I was with my ex, her 10 year old son got the Chidren's edition of Trivial Pursuit. It had multiple choice questions, so what we did was give him the options but for us we just, where possible, just gave the question
