So much for me staying up to see the local results.  A suspicious car was left outside where the ballots were being counted.  So, counting has stopped, and part of the area is being evacuated.  I'll say this about Northern Ireland politics...never dull.

No party was a perfect candidate for me. I was on the border for two. What were people's top issues to consider? For me it was immigration, education, the environment, and the economy.

Oh, I meant to get back to this question!  My top issues are:

1) How does the party propose to deal with the most vulnerable members of society
2) Environment
3) Economy
4) Then immigration & other stuff

I don't think any of the parties are doing particularly well with any of this, but the Tories would do the worst, AFAIC.  Hence, my voting tactically with the anything-other-than-Conservative camp.  (Well not BNP or UKIP either!)

Even though I'm an immigrant to the UK (now a citizen), as someone else on here said somewhere previously, none of them are honest and coming clean with immigration discussions - every single party it's all knee-jerk reaction (what immigration sound bite will win the most votes?!) to Daily Mail hysteria, very disappointing.

Top Issues for me are below but it's hard for me to rank them because it depends how I'm feeling on the day.  I look for who agreed with me on most of those issues.

1. EU
2. Immigration
3. social welfare state and looking after the young, old, and vulnerable
4. Economy
5. Environment
