Congrats to the UK Yankee bank holiday brides.  :D

I think we're just going to spend the time watching films, reading, and probably going out to coffee.  We had a guest this past weekend, as well as a pop in from my inlaws the weekend before, so I am looking forward to just relaxing.

I'm having a 'stay-in'-cation too this bank holiday.

I had a few ideas, but my heart wasn't in it. It's a good thing though because I have quite an expensive end of year and first half of next year to pay for!!

We are fortunate that we live on the very edge of our town - 5 minutes in the car & we're in the country!
Weeeelll, maybe a bit more than just five minutes...

We're going camping Friday night through Sunday at a place that's sort of a halfway point between us and the friends we're meeting,  It's nice, but I *really* want to get back to Dent before winter!

Then Monday we're going to Manchester to celebrate Mum-in-law's birthday.

It's my friends 50th birthday, so DW, myself, my friend and his partner (female but they aren't married) are going to Stamford, Lincolnshire for the weekend and on Sunday me and my friend are having an afternoon session in the pubs while the girls go shopping! He doesn't know it yet but all the beers are on me!

Family party in Leicester Saturday! Spending the night near by and having lunch in some historic location with mum-in-law on Sunday...so will spend Monday vegging with the cats! So excited I don't have to work this weekend!

Congrats to the weddingers  :)

Oh I'm trying to remember what I did on the Scottish August bank holiday. Oh yeah, I met my bf at the pub for lunch, did some allotmenting, and just generally enjoyed a pretty nice day.

I've never gotten food on my underpants!

Yeah, it'd take you longer, but not us - up the Station Road roundabout, out Scotland Lane way, past the airport ---> in the countryside!  (from ours)  :D

Yay for weddings, parties, trips & holidays!!!  :)

Update:  Looks like camping is not in the picture due to the weather forecast, we will probably just stay over our friends' house and go for a nice walk on Saturday.

Still sounds good!  Sunday/Monday weather isn't looking too bad at the mo'.  We're hoping to go rambling one of those days.  Have fun!!  :)

ETA - Just checked a couple of weather websites showing highs of 59-60 degrees F for the next few days up here.  Geeesh!  FFS, it's still August!

Aww - do you ever take a picnic to a nearby park or anything like that?  Yesterday, we just walked (here in town) to Kirkstall Abbey grounds to hear Andee's concert & had a picnic and afternoon out together with a group of local UKY-related friends.

We used to do picnics at Regents Park, but it's a crowded 40 min. underground ride.. Our local park isn't really great for a picnic, unfortunately! It's more just a football pitch and some tennis courts.
Finally living with my Husband in London after 6 1/2 years together but apart... and loving my life!
