What's your favourite American Goodie?

That's how fudge is down here. It's in giant blocks in lots of flavours, and you choose what you want. Is it not the same in other parts of the UK? It's the dense creaminess part that makes me not like fudge.

I prefer:

the grainy stuff; however, that's tablet not fudge. A completely different animal and, imo, much nicer!

Maybe Cornish fudge is different from the fudge I've had up here in the north.  It was definitely called fudge and not tablet and it was nothing like the fudge I grew up with.  I will have to try fudge when I (finally) get back down to Cornwall!

Tablet is a special type of Scottish fudge - it's amazing (my absolute favourite) !

Normal 'English' fudge is the creamy, chewy type of fudge that comes in different flavours, but tablet is basically just sugar and condensed milk - it's hard and crumbly and just melts in your mouth. You can't eat too much of it though because it's so sweet that it makes your teeth hurt - you can taste the grains of sugar in it when you eat it.

I'm not so keen on the tablet that you can buy in the shops because I find it too hard and not very 'melt in the mouth' - I usually just make my own from a family recipe (my mum grew up in Scotland) .

I love candy corn as does my DSD - I brought back 2 HUGE bags of it.

I also love love love triscuits - black pepper ones please!

Dill pickle hamburger chips

Those 2 are the main things I want ALWAYS.

You can't eat too much of it though

Good news for grape jelly fans.  DS served a Brit at work yesterday (he was buying shirts) and he said he was the head of UK Welch's. They were having a big international pow wow in Boston.

ETA: apparently it's only the grape juice that will be on offer in the UK.
Personally, grape jelly and juice make me gag. Probably because my mother used to put my migraine pills in a spoonful of Welch's grape jelly.
