I didn't find any at my Wilco's, and I didn't have the nerve to brave the crowds at Poundland or the 99p shop :::::shudders:::::

So I went off yesterday on my lunch break to look for those plainy-plain ones at Smiths...

And I found (at WH Smith), with the Christmas gift wrapping stuff, a pack of 3 gift boxes (one a little bigger - like for a sweater or bathrobe maybe, one perfect sized for a shirt, and then the third in the set is smaller like maybe for a scarf or a pair of gloves or something like that) - decorated in a silver foiled holiday design (no extra wrapping required).  I think it was £5.59 for the pack, but it was included in their 3-for-2 offer (on a wide variety of holiday giftwrap items) so I picked up two of those gift box packs along with a pack of 6 red foiled bottle bags.

Just like in the US - except pricier, and only choice of one (heee!) festive design.  But I'm happy to recycle them & I'm sorted for what I needed!
Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack, a crack in everything
That's how the light gets in...

Ikea Wembley has a HUGE pile of them. Several sizes in gold or silver foil. 99p.  :)

I was there again today and the smaller ones are 49p (8x8x3.5). They had a serious amount of them and I am guessing they will be marked down soon, so if you're near an Ikea....... :)

The nice bit is that the design is paisley so could work for any occasion.

I actually quite like using the more expensive ones for some of the people on my list because I know they'll appreciate the box as much as the gift! And then all I have to do is tie a ribbon around it. Less wasted wrapping paper. My go to is Selfridges, but I've seen cheaper at John Lewis and I saw the ones at Ikea Tottenham today - and meant to grab some and totally forgot!

Ah Ikea!! Why didn't I think of that?!! Haha I knew it was just a matter of finding these things!!! I ended up buying those printer paper boxes chary posted-I like wrapping presents in different paper so I prefer plain cardboard anyways. My boyfriend came home and took one look at the gifts then said "Now i'm going to have to go get boxes because your presents look amazing!!" Hahaha
