Parents flying over for birth or visiting later?

It's supposed to work brilliantly, stops pp bleeding as it helps to clot your blood.  The capsule idea seems the best as you just swallow the pill and it's done with, it's just expensive to find someone to do it for oh, or you can buy your own food dehydrator and do it.

Thanks everyone. Reading your experiences has helped me think this through sanely, instead of just being overwhelmed by emotions (the joys of pregnancy hormones...).

The Boy and I had a long talk about this last night and agreed that planning for the folks to come around my due date is best. I really want my folks to share in this special time and it turns out that my husband actually wants them there too- he feels more confident and relaxed knowing there will be experienced 'back-up' there supporting us.

I would love for my mom to be in the delivery room with me, but I am more interested in the support/help she'll be once we bring home the new baby.

I just have to say this, my mother came into the delivery room when my first was born and she asked thr midwife for a mirror and I watched my son being born.  However, I still didn't want her there with my second. My son wasn't able o breastfeed either and even though I was trying, my mother made me feel awful about the whole thing. She even told me that he didn't like the smell of my nipples. I have lovely fragrant nipples as demonstrated by my daughters love for the booby for two years.

Its a personal choice, I have a very thick skin that only my mother can get through, and she wasn't thrilled that I didnt want her there for my second birth, but tough titties mother! Lol. We have a very good relationship, but we do annoy each other. My parents are coming over next week for Thanksgiving. We are all excited...

Just wanted to say thank you for providing my "she said what!!!"  moment for the day, followed by my proper belly laugh of the day to your perfect response!

I don't know if I could stomach it either but the postpartum period wasn't a great experience for me!  And they say you can keep the placenta pills in the freezer for menopause : )
