The Relationships/Dating Thread
« on: September 05, 2014, 04:04:29 PM »
OK, so I know many of you on here are already married/in a long-term but if so, who's single on here? (And no, I'm not asking. I'm in a relationship already.)

Anyone got any nice/funny/heartwarming love stories on here of how you met? Or your worst dating stories?
How easy has it been finding a relationship/being single etc.?

As for the best towns to meet single people, well, I'm from Northern England - Yorkshire actually, but I'll list them here anyway, just for convenience:
Quote
Leeds - Pretty much most of the city centre bars, but The Manor in Chapel Allerton is really good, so I've heard - it gets people of all ages coming to it.
Manchester Often go there as I've got friends down that way.
Well worth it to visit, heck, there's even some singles events too!
There's two bars I'd recommend:
Rain Bar in Castlefield: Great canalside location, and the food is recommended too, although I've yet to visit myself (my friends have recommended it to me, though).
Bar Fringe in the Northern Quarter: It's worth a visit, although it is a bit far out of the city centre for most.
Liverpool It's popular for stag and hen dos, but an excellent city for a great night out. There's actually two areas I'd recommend here:
Concert Square - where there's a good mix of bars and restaurants. The pub food isn't too bad but the beer choice is excellent  ;D. Whenever I've gone down to Liverpool, I've often gone there.
The Kazimier, or "The Kaz" as the locals call it, is ideal if you want a more unique night out.
If you do go out in Liverpool, at least plan it, it's so easy to get lost in! A bit like Leeds or Manchester really
Plus, I'd also recommend the town of Formby down the road from it - it's a celeb hangout, often known for being the place where people such as Wayne Rooney etc. are seen. OK, so it's a bit expensive to eat and drink out in, but the people there are super-friendly, and it's popular for nights out there, there's a decent mix of bars, OK, not as many as Liverpool but still... worth visiting. I've been a few times, great during the summer. The bars / pubs are good places to meet singles, as is the town itself - many young urban professionals live there, so my friend told me, but she said be prepared for it to be an expensive night out! TripAdvisor gives it good reviews, and... well, see for yourself.

Hope this helps anyone in Yorkshire and the Northwest of England on here!

This is different to this thread as it covers single people.

It's also a fairly light-hearted thread too; let's not get too serious  :)
