Tuesday Morning is also a good place to get sheets. Got my last 2 sets there - best value I found at the time, and typically better selection than TJMaxx or Ross.

Bed Bath & Beyond is good if on sale AND combined with a 20% off coupon.
Married December 1992 (my 'old flame' whom I first met in the mid-70s)
1st move to UK - 1993 (Letter of Consent granted at British Embassy in Washington DC)
ILR - 1994 (1 year later - no fee way back then!)
Back to US in 2000
Returned to UK July 2011 (Spousal Visa/KOL endorsement)
ILR - September 2011
Application for naturalization submitted July 2014
Approval received 15-10-14; ceremony scheduled for 10 November!
Passport arrived 25 November 2014. Finally done!

Yes I love them!! I have only seen them in three packs so I'll have to check primark out. My grandmother bought me a pack of fifty back in the states when they first came out and I've been a fan ever since.  Their perfect for my [to many] cardigans lol

If you have a Costco nearby, they sold large packages of 50. I saw packs of 50 on amazon.co.uk as well if you are starting over for velvet covered hangers. (I bought a new 10 pack from Primark every time I went for a few weeks).

Yes, I got my flannel set for 50% off and my friend had a 20% off coupon - it was great!  If I'd been looking for cotton sheets of the quality I like, I'd have to just settle for the 20% coupon.  I found it ironic, that I benefited from the time of year (mid March) when US stores are switching to spring/summer stuff, but I live in Northeast England where summer is so short as to almost nonexistent!  Flannel almost all year round for DH and I.   ;D

I've yet to shop in Tuesday Morning, but have heard great things about it.  I guess it's never been close to where I've been.  I'll have to check it out next time I'm here in the US, I fly back home tomorrow - lord I really hate that flight..... and don't get me started on the fun I have with jet lag!   :-X

I guess I'm not too fussy on bedsheets.  Probably because when I grew up, these things weren't a priority for spending (e.g. not at all), so we had million year old threadbare cheap sheets. So I know no different.   J was the same, so we combined our collection of million year old threadbare cheap sheets when we moved in together.  Towels are the same.  We've now got two really nice (probably what none you of like for sheets) duvets from Debenhams and they feel awesome.  We also got a set of towels from M&S for a wedding gift and wow, they're comfy. That makes me think we should probably have a big ole clean out of the million year old sheets and towels.

Way back in time, 60+ years ago, some of my relatives worked for Cannon Mills in Kannapolis NC. We always got sheets & towels for Christmas & wedding presents, and our family was among the first in our little community to have patterned sheets. We also lived 30 minutes from Fieldcrest Mills (also in NC) and they had a fantastic outlet store. We always had nice sheets and towels, and that's something I truly appreciate.

I also need to have a towel clear-out. I bought some plain white towels at another factory in Roanoke Rapids NC back in the mid-1980s, and they are still usable. By contrast, some towels I bought here a few years back which looked/felt great went ragged very quickly.

I mourn the death of the textile industry in the US, but for whatever reason, it seems the imported stuff now sold there is far better/cheaper than I can get here.

Here's my list of what I stock up on whenever I'm in the US:
Tylenol (including the travel size tube of 10 caplets)
Citracal
Wet Ones (individually wrapped by the box)
CVS Instant Hand Sanitizing Spray
CVS Lens Wipes
Thera Tears Lubricant Eye Drops
Xlear Nasal Spray (essential for air travel)
Tide to Go mini and Tide Travel Sink Packets
Aquaphor Healing Ointment
Neosporin tube and Neo To Go
Eucerin Daily  Protection moisturizing face lotion SPF 30
Secret Invisible Solid deodorant
Hefty Jumbo zip bags (2.5 gal.) (just the right size for sweaters)
Endangered Species Dark Chocolate (individually wrapped)

I always have a look in stores for markdowns of cotton turtlenecks, crew socks, Bali bras, and of course bedding and towels!

When I was a kid and the family would travel through the South on vacation, we would always stop at the textile outlets in the Carolinas.  It helped break up the road trip.  Plus we got very nice towels for little money.

I hear you on the plates. I really miss mine and my parents old Corel dishes/bowls/plates. They were so light and often could take a drop without breaking. I really dislike heavy plates.
