Speaking from experience as someone who tried to report back after something visa-related....
Write everything down as soon as you can. It's amazing how quickly important info leaves your mind when you're applying for a visa in-person.
We applied in-person for my first FLR and forgot half of what they told us.
For ILR, I'd learned my lesson and wrote down info as I got it, but didn't think to write down a list of questions and forgot to ask a few that I wish I'd have asked.
If I could turn back time, I'd go in with a list of questions in order of importance and write down the answers I get (keeping in mind the answers might not be accurate) so I could report back with 100% certainty.
