I completely agree that just sitting on a chair next to a pool is not very appealing.  It's hot, you can never get properly comfortable and usually you can't even comfortably read.  However, if you are going with small kids, nothing beats a luxury hotel with several swimming pools.
Can you imagine paying £20 per day for each person in your family? Rip off Britain at it's worst.

I'm not against sitting by a pool by any means, I just don't think I'd want to pick a hotel that has a pool where people partake in Battle Royale for a seat haha I think that chaos cancels out the relaxation of it all.

You know, if the resorts all did winding "lazy river" type pools, they could have miles of poolside real estate... enough for every guest who wants one to have a lounger by the water's edge.

I would definitely get involved with that... LOL If I can also drink in that lazy river, I'd have little reason to get out.

Wow, I could never do a holiday like that! (and feel a bit badly my future kids won't either)

I'm allergic to most sun creams, lotions etc. And as white as they come so burn in an instant if I'm outside without cover. I can't sit on a crowded beach or at a pool without having an asthma attack thanks to all the scented sun lotions. Give me a remote location anywhere please!
