I hope this is the correct place for this question. I am trying to renew my US passport via mail (rather than in person at the embassy) and the embassy explicitly says "...we can only accept payment by an International Money Order or Banker’s Draft drawn on a U.S. financial institution in U.S. dollars."
I've checked with my High Street bank (and other banks, too) as well as money/currency stores in town and none of them can help me. So, my new plan is to have family in the States go to a US post office, where they apparently can generate International Money Orders, and have my family member mail it to me, so that I can mail it to the embassy. Does anyone know of a better way to get this done? I assume this will work... Thanks in advance.
