The way I see it, the consular birth record is simply a record. It’s a nice to have, say, 100 years from now, when somebody is trying to trace their ancestry. It doesn’t serve any legal purpose or claim to British citizenship.
With my son’s UK passport application we also had to submit his British grandfather’s birth certificate & marriage certificate. I didn’t see these docs in your list.
We received a letter from HMPO because we didn’t submit these docs in our original application. But then got my son’s passport mailed to us in the States 2 weeks after submitting the missing docs. Wondering why your application is taking so long.
