Hi all, just about to submit my application finally but want to check a few things.

Where they ask to list my children's relatives in the UK, do they want names as well as relation?

Not sure about that one - I don't think I've seen anyone mention having to list childrens' relatives before.

I've seen several posts stating we'd need to provide letters addressed to our children dated within the last three months but that is not listed on the required documents page or stated anywhere on my application that I can see? Is this only a requirment in certain circumstances? I had to provide their British passport information on the app but have not been instructed to include their passports in documentation either. While I do have their passports, I do not have post for all 3 of my children meeting that criteria 🤨

It's a requirement for all applications. Unfortunately, the online application is vague and does not include a list of every document required. We have seen people in the last few months be contacted by UKVI specifically to ask them for a letter confirming their child's address, because it was a requirement even though it was not listed on the application.

The documents you MUST send for your children are:
- each child's passport
- each child's birth certificate
- a letter dated in the last 3 months confirming each child's address (usually from their school or GP... you may have to request and pay for a letter from the GP)

From the old FLR(M) paper form, regarding what you must provide for children (which has not changed) - I've highlighted in red the documents you must provide:

Quote
Children
You must provide an original full birth certificate i.e. one which shows the parents’ names for all your children. This includes children applying for leave to remain in the UK with you, those applying separately as a child of a person with limited leave as a partner of a settled person in the UK or person who is in the UK with refugee leave or humanitarian protection, as well as children not applying with you and those not subject to immigration control.

If you are applying as the child of a person with limited leave as a partner of a settled person in the UK or person who is in the UK with refugee leave or humanitarian protection and you are under the age of 18 (or children who are over 18 and who have already been granted leave in this category) then you must provide the documents listed below, in addition to those already listed above:
• Evidence of where you normally live.
• Evidence that your parent plays an active role in your upbringing. This evidence should be dated within the last 3 months and can include:
▪▪Official correspondence addressed to the child;
▪▪Doctor’s/hospital letters on official headed paper stating the child’s registered address;
▪▪School/nursery letter(s) on headed paper stating the child’s registered address.

If you have dependent children under the age of 18 in the UK (or children who are over 18 and who have already been granted leave in this category as your dependent), you must provide the documents listed below for each child, in addition to those already listed above, even if they are not included in the application:
• Passports/travel documents to confirm your child’s immigration, settlement or citizenship status.
• Biometric residence permit if your child has been issued with one since entering the UK.

Evidence of where your child/children normally lives and that you and/or any partner play an active role in their upbringing. This evidence should be dated within the last 3 months and can include:
▪▪Official correspondence addressed to the child/children;
▪▪Doctor’s/hospital letters on official headed paper stating the child’s/children’s registered
▪▪School/nursery letter(s) on headed paper stating the child’s/children’s registered address.
▪▪If you have access rights to your child a court document issued by the courts showing your access rights; and/or evidence from your former partner that you have access rights.
▪▪Evidence of your and/or any partner’s parental responsibility for the child/children.
▪▪Evidence of where you and/or any partner lives, as the parent of the child/children
▪▪Evidence of anything else you would like us to consider regarding your child’s life, both in the UK and outside the UK.

How long will I have to upload docs post app submission?

You have until you attend your biometrics appointment to upload the documents. Alternatively, when you book the biometrics appointment, you can pay for Document Scanning and have all the documents scanned and uploaded at the appointment.

Also if there aren't free biometrics appointments available for months, am I allowed to wait for one or is there some reason I should opt to pay?

You are allowed to wait for one, though most people recently haven't bothered to wait and have just paid for one.

I haven't either. It made me wonder if you might have chosen the wrong option at some point during the application? Perhaps someone who has applied recently can confirm?

Yikes ok. This is under Non applying children.

It says first, "Does this child have extended family in the UK?" Yes.

Then, "Please list all extended family members this child has in the UK that are not included on this application"🤷🏼‍♀️

Thanks for elaborating, that sounds ok.  :) I'd probably just list the relationship and not the name.

Thanks, it was the immediate following questions that made me unsure:

 "If you left the UK, do you and your children have family or friends in the country you would return to?" I said yes as I do have family there.

 " Please provide details of these family and friends, for example their names, relationship to the child and where they live"

I did include their names but maybe I'll take them out.

Good point. Maybe better leave them in to be consistent.  Either way though, it's not the sort of thing that would have a negative effect on the application.

Ok so now I've paid and submitted the online application. I am trying to book an appt. for biometrics and it shows the £110 being a standard appt.? No other types available and only shows up to November 10. It seems like I don't have any other option? I am not at all interested in paying another £110.

What do I do now?

I believe in that case you would have to wait (keep checking) until one of the free slots become available.

Ah ok. That's scary! I'll keep checking then.  Hopefully I don't run into any problems for going over my BRP expiration date for this 😫

I'll post my final docs checklist after I get onto the school for some letters.

Thank you guys as always for your help, you're saving my sanity here!! ❤️

The only thing that matters is that you submit your online application before your BRP expires... and you’ve already done that, so you are good :).

If you have not attended biometrics/got your visa approval before your BRP expires, you will be covered under Section 3C Leave:

Hi all, just an update, I was able to book a free biometrics appt. for about a month from now.

I still need to collect letters showing my children's address and a final bank statement.

Also need to write out a letter regarding my correspondence being uneven by one month due to various circumstances. Can anyone tell me how this should be addressed and if it should be at the top of the docs or top of the cohabition section?

I opted to pay for the scanning service because of all the passports they're wanting. They won't want the kids US passports will they? They are not included on the application (just the UK ones) so I assume they just want proof of UK citizenship.
