Thanks for the info. Couple more questions. When looking at the Faster Payments section on the website, it states that your bill will have the correct place to send the money (it doesn't).....although it then states that if you don't know that info to just fire it away to either of the two listed sites. If from what you are saying....all I need to do is log on to my bank and just transfer the money to either of the accounts below and just put my UTR into the memo field....that will be enough for them to know who it is coming from.

Pay into one of the following accounts:

    sort code - 08 32 10
    account number - 12001039
    account name - HMRC Cumbernauld

    sort code - 08 32 10
    account number - 12001020
    account name - HMRC Shipley

Yes, they will know who it's from by your UTR followed by K in the reference line.
If you're not in an immediate time crunch, just send £1 and wait for it to appear as a credit in your accouont before sending the rest.

It is the first one in that list that I send my money. (I just checked my payees).

My UTR with K added at the end is in the memo field.

I also transferred  £1 the first time to check it was going to the right place.

Oh great. Just tried to sign in to my Govt Gateway site....it states my info is incorrect. So....I try to set up a new account.....states my info is incorrect. Guess I need to call to see what is wrong. It really really wants my Nat Ins number......
