yeah, right. ;)

LOL!!!!  Thanks for that laugh Mindy!!!

But they are!  I am going tonight and I'm getting them.  So they don't melt then?  And you just do it the same way you do any roast?  COOL!

Put the food on the inside of the bag. ;)

Thank you, thank you everyone for the grand ideas where to obtain these bags!  I'm thrilled.  I've been trying recipies off of oprah's website of all places.  So far, my DH likes everything I've made.  Next is a Asian glazed roast in the sought after roasting bag.

A pox on Tesco!

OK, today I used a bag for the first time!  It was good, I didn't use any oil so the meat and veg were not crispy like Rich and I both like it.  The veg tasted kida boild.  So what did I do wrong?  Should I just add the oil next time?  (I use Olive Oil and usually just a little)

I guess, because veggies take less time to cook than meat, it was probably done long before the meat. Perhaps you should consider putting the veggies in a separate bag and place it in the oven later.

To get a roast or poultry crispy on top, you'll have to cut the bag along the centre on top, approx. 20-15 mins before cooking time is over. But watch out for the hot steam inside the bag!

(omg, I can't believe I just gave advice about cooking! ... I must be getting old!!!)  :o

I wouldn't put the potatoes in the bag -- they get roasted in their own little dish so they'll get crispy (I use Delia's recipe!).  The carrots and such can go in the bag though.  And yup -- you've gotta slit the bag open for the last 20 mins or so if you want the top of the birdie to be crispy.   ;)

I poke a few holes in the bag with a fork at first, but I slit it totally open about 20 mins before the meat is done.

Heck, I'd be there in a shot if we didn't live so far apart!   :-\\\\

Just poke a couple of holes in the bag when you put the food in.  Cook.  Cook.  Cook.  Slit the bag (careful you don't burn yourself!) 20 mins before you want it out of the oven.  Hey presto!

(Or just go out for dinner!)   ;)
