Expat, I agree that the blind man shouldn't have been left standing, but why did you single out the young girl out of everyone on the bus? Is it because she was young? How do you know she didn't have a physical disability herself? Not all disabilities are visible. She could have had chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, AIDS, lupus etc.

On the LRT buses the first seats are normally set aside for the elderly or disabled.  When it's very busy I may sit in one if they are the only seats available, but I'll vacate it as soon as someone who needs it gets on the bus.  It's EXTREMELY poor form not to offer one of these seats to a disabled individual.

When I am grown-up I will understand how BEAUTIFUL it feels to administrate my life effectively.

Until then I will continue to TORCH all correspondence that bores me and to dance NAKED over the remnants of its still glowing embers.

Because of my chronic disgestive difficulties, I am often bloated.  I don't know how many times I have been asked, "Oh, how far along are you?", when I was not pregnant.  I always make these people feel as embarrased as I possibly can.  I reply, loudly, with, "I'm not pregnant!  I'm fat, thank you very much!"

Comments like that make me feel so self-conscious; some people just have no clue and no tact.

I'm glad you managed to find the humour in it, Hopster. I don't know if I could have.

I'm glad you managed to find the humour in it, Hopster. I don't know if I could have.

If it had been a male member of staff, I would have been mortified.  Or even one of my friends here at work.

But it was this tiny little lady who I never interact much with and who is no oil painting, so it didn't make me feel threatened!  How judgmental does that make me? :P
