Ah yes, can't believe I forgot about smores!

Lorena's grilled peaches with honey and ice cream reminded me of peach cobbler as well. So simple to make but I wonder if anyone would eat it. Kind of hope they do but also kind of hope they don't so there is more.for me!

A win either way in my book. ;)

There's no loser when it comes to cobbler.

FYI--a "cobbler" is a lot like a "crumble" so it will be eaten I mentioned earlier that my family has a weird aversion to dairy products hence everything on ice cream I'm an evil genius

For deserts, brownies are a big hit usually. If you can get a hold of some, vanilla ice cream with Hersheys chocolate syrup. Angel food cake. Root beer floats if you can find root beer. Another thing I've done is decorated strawberries. Dip a strawberry 2/3 of the way into melted white chocolate and then dip it 1/3 of the way into blue sprinkles, so they look like to colors of the flag.

I do a big BBQ every year with a few other American families. We have the usual burgers, hot dogs and chicken and various cold salads. One friend makes amazing baked beans and another one makes great devilled eggs, so they bring them every year.

Last year we had a little party for some friends and made pulled pork sandwiches which were a big hit (I found Sweet Baby Ray's at Tesco). I had cherry cobbler for dessert but I can't remember what our sides were - potato salad was one of them, I think.

Do you happen to have a recipe for the cherry cobbler? :-D

I use this one, it's a little unorthodox but has been VERY popular: http://allrecipes.com/recipe/72815/fresh-cherry-cobbler/

I should mention that I add vanilla to the cherries and some Penzey's Baking Spice to the flour mixture (which is just a mix of nutmeg, cinnamon, allspice, etc) to add a little more flavor. Good luck!

My Facebook feed has been popping up with all kinds of New England and American foods right now and I'm definitely craving all of it!

Told hubby I needed to make him some proper baked beans for dinner one night, and how we used to just have baked beans by themselves as a main, usually with a side of cornbread and and coleslaw. I said I was going to make that for him, and he was a bit confused. But he's happy to go with it, he's up for the challenge!

(I got him hooked on iced tea this week  ;D)
I've never gotten food on my underpants!
