I Googled the ring thing and there are lots of sites that mention it and posters that swear by the efficacy of it.  I've never heard of it before, but I suppose the only thing lost by trying it is that it doesn't work!

We've always used a gold ring too. I've done it since I was a kid. It really works!! But, you have to rub it on the INSIDE of the eyelid, not just on the outside. Pull it down just a bit, and rub the ring on the inside red part of the eyelid.

Ouch! That sounds painful!! We always did it on the outside, where the stye was.

Count one more for the black tea bag. I got them often and that's what mom used. If she ever stuck rings in my eyes, I've blocked out that memory. :)

No, it's not painful! My mom always said to do it on the inside of the sty. Mine were always right on the edge, so it was easy to get the ring just on the inside edge. Funny how it works, though.

Okay, remind me not to go near any of you when I have a sty.  I have a really bad gold (nope, not the nickel in it- just pure gold!) allergy that causes a nasty contact dermatitis that is painful, itchy, swollen, etc.  So no gold is going NEAR my eye, especially with a sty already on it...
So the tea bag sounds nice to me.

No. I tried to apply a warm washcloth and he wasn't having it. But it's not getting any bigger and today its much darker so hopefully it's run it's starting to heal.
