You might want to check e-bay.
Last time i looked there were several people selling not only WW cookbooks, but also the WW material/booklets that you get when you join up.

Well I just won the complete starter kit on Ebay for $27...

So when I get it, I'm happy to share.

And peeps, thank so much!  There are a few recipes I'm craving but I know they won't be in there, so that will be a big help if you really don't mind entering them for me!

i jsut joined the american etools too since i'm bored of meetings.

although i've only 8 flex points until they reset on tuesday due to my business dinner.

i jsut had a 16 point dunkin donuts coffee cake muffin cause i didn't know hwo BAD it was for me.

thank goodness i'm swimming and eating healhty for lunch and dinner!   :o

I was good except some goat cheese and toast...ate a frozen dinner thing for lunch and a large amount of watermelon!

Hmmm, I've done WW in the past, like 10 years ago and had good results but it always came back on  :-\\\\  Since I've been back, I've been eating less carbs and sweets (I still eat some, cutting it all out is a disaster!)  In the three months I've lost about 15 lbs altogether!  I crave sweets and carbs very rarely, so that is good.  But I like the idea of losing weight a lb or two a week, makes it easier.  My friend lost like 3 or 4 stone on WW and has kept it off so it does work for a lot of people.  I may try again just to see.  I need to exercise, but I HATE it!  Any tips for that, the gym gives me hives!

Thing is it is all about calories.  Even with Atkins and South Beach and Sugar Busters...you usually consume less calories.  Studies are now showing that the statistical difference in total weight loss over a 12 month period is insignificant...though low carb does work quicker in the first 6 months. 

The key really is just to make it a lifestyle.  I have lost and gained and lost and gained no matter what program, but it is due to my not keeping with the portion control and healthy eating.

I think it is really a matter of personal choice and what you think you can make a lifestyle.

As for the excersize.... :P no advice there..they keep telling you to do what you love.... so......what if you don't love it? 

I try to walk more, and just do it....

agreed about making it a lifestyle.  it was very easy for me to keep off.....as long as you're good and healthy 5-6 days a week or limit your 'bad' meals to 3 times a week, it's easy.

that's how i maintained.  i only allowed myself 3 bad meals (thai or really fattening things) a few times  aweek and it was so easy.

i swam for 70 min last night.  i was so proud.  hopefully i'll have a good weigh in on Tuesday!

Well, I got my WW books yesterday...I'm a little confused though.

It has a chart that says what your points should be.  Under 150 lb is 20 points.

But I'm 130.  So I just eat 20 points (or 24, rather, to maintain, is that right?) until I get over 150, and then add two points?

What confuses me about it is, it just seems to odd that I'll lose weight at 150 and 120 on 20 points a day.  Seems like I should have to cut down more, doesn't it?

I feel so stupid. :-[  My head is all over the place these days!

ok for me to maintain at 133 i ate around 25 points.  that was on the old system.

the new flex points under 150 you get 20 points as your target then 35 as your 'flex' to use when you want. 

20 points equates to about 1200 calories (roughly depending on a few factors) and you're expecting, right?

I would think you should eat around 26 or so to be healthy and keep baby happy.  when you get back to wanting to lose then you stick to the 20 points then add a few.

it does seem strange that you'll lose at 150 and 120 by eating 20 but you will.  it's a pretty low amount of calories.
