Although pretty much every other aspect of my life is computerized, I can't get into electronic lists.  I write things down by hand.  I think I need to have something tactile, or I don't remember to consult it.  Plus, it's fun to cross things off.

I print all of my lists out so I can cross them off. :D

We travel lots also and my life would be so much simpler if I did have a spreadsheet. As it stands, seems like every time I need to start from scratch figuring out what I need and always end up forgetting something important. Husband and I operate on "Passport, cards, cash, keys; everything else is replaceble" principle, but it still would be nice to avoid getting to a place only to remember that the bag of underpants is still sitting on my bed at home.  :-\\\\

And yeah, marlspo, totally with you on forgetting to take the trash out. The only positive being that the consequences are so horrific, it's a mistake you're likely to only make once. :)
And if you threw a party
Invited everyone you knew
You would see the biggest gift would be from me
And the card attached would say
"Thank you for being a friend!"

I don't have a spreadsheet, but I made a checklist in Word. I usually forget something and this is the only way I have ever been able to remember everything.

No, but I started to build a Gantt chart to deal with the logistics of my last year in the States. It took me too long to learn to drive the software, though. Stupid shareware.

Microsoft project!  All your timeline needs in one place.

However, all you organisational geeks would love Microsoft access, all kinds of fun there!

(or the open versions, like I use at home on my mac)

My professional life forces me to be a project planner, but I hate, hate, hate it with a passion and I suck so bad at figuring out how long something will take. (I'm going to be interesting trying to wedding plan...crash and burn!!!  ;D)

But as a true engineer, I like technological solutions to life's little problems  ;)

I've never gotten food on my underpants!

Certainly there must be some people like me....
avoid it all until the last minute then burn out trying to get it all done.. know you will forget something, just hope it isn't anything major....when your time deadline is upon you whatever is done is done and you just get on with it :)

I am not organised, obviously!

Oh that is completely me...  even when I have something planned, I still somehow end up doing it at the last minute.  All the project managers in my professional life force me to plan and I cannot do it. So I'll say, give me 10 days to do something.  Halfway through the 10th day, I start it...

[smiley=laugh4.gif]  I could never be so organized! I'm lucky if I ever make a list, much less a spreadsheet. My mom is the list queen, and super organized, as well. I wish some of her skills had passed onto me, but unfortunately I am just like my dad, I sort of just throw everything in and hope for the best!  :P I'm glad I had my mom to help me pack for the move, otherwise who knows what I would've brought?!

Yeah, but on the computer is better because you only have to make it once and you just print it out each time! My list includes stuff for all seasons, but I just ignore the out of season stuff when they're not needed.

My 1 list includes everything, that way when I print it out I can automatically strike things out with a big fat marker and PRETEND like I've already done things on my to do list.

Sort of like how I'll make a to do list, put it on the counter, then if I do something NOT on the list, I go back and write it just so I can mark it out. :) It helps me feel like I've actually accomplished things, rather than spinning in circles.
