I honestly buy the cheapest Tesco one  :-X I just find it tastes better than the other brands!

Same here.  Tesco is miles away, but Sainsbury's and any roaster are way far and the only Waitroses are in Edinburgh.

Can you imagine having all those choices they have in London?  ;) :P

I wonder if Whole Foods in London carries Peet's Coffee like they do in the States.  I've always found Whole Foods to have a good coffee selection in general.  AnneR, you must be a Bay Area gal too!

I am indeed!  :D

My real preference would be Blues Breaker from the Santa Cruz Roasting Company, but they don't do international delivery, so Peets it is!

ETA: In a pinch I think Taylors of Harogate's Hot Lava Java will do - it's very strong as well!  ;D

What type of coffee are you missing?  Drip coffee?  Espresso-style?

As a self-confessed, unabashed coffee snob, I am partial to Taylors of Harrogate Guatamala Cloud preground for use in my Moka Pot.  Back home my husband and I had a Gaggia espresso machine and nice burr grinder, and we used locally roasted beans (again, preferring central american to African and Indonesian).   We've sacrificed here a bit (because a similar set up for just three years is WAY too expensive) but it gets us what we need to survive.  I also think that the Taylors would hold up well to french press/cafetiere coffee.

No doubt!  On this side of the water, the choices are Co-Op or Morrison's.

And believe you me, it's a haul to get to the Tesco, particularly if the weather is bad.

Someone mentioned it briefly, but Monmouth Coffee is supposed to be the best local roasted-and-ground coffee shop in London.  They do takeaway & sell whole beans/ground blends.  Take a look at the their website, as they rotate their varities on a seasonal basis.  I've had several people recommend this place to me.

That's funny, I always bought beans from Santa Cruz Coffee Roasting Company- but take out coffee from LuLu's or Pergolesi.  I've taken a shine to the Los Gatos CRC since my mom moved there. It's funny how spoiled for choice you are growing up in the bay.  ;D

Ha, I've gotten my Dunkin sent to me...but I like to taste my way around the Whole Foods selections, too.    Just not a fan of Starbucks.  Blech.  I mean, any port in a storm..but still.  Not great and too expensive.

OMG I spent most of the 80s sitting around outside Pergolesi drinking coffee and filled with enuii.  ;)

Lol I don't believe it's changed much, same surly staff and disgusting bathroom. I always meet my mates from UCSC there when I'm in town.

I'm going to SC soon as I get home. Taqueria Vallarta and Shogun are calling my name. Loudly.  ;) (And maybe Planet Fresh and drinks at 99 Bottles) *sorry to go off topic- food and coffee go hand and hand in my book*
