We have just had a garage sale.  We not only got rid of lots of stuff, but made over £250.  Everyone we talked to said they now wanted to have a sale too.  So if you have a good spot, why not?

There's always Freecycle for the bits you can't sell.  Wish I'd known about them before I did.  Ended up throwing out perfectly good stuff that didn't sell at a yard sale as I was too exhausted to load the car up and take them to the Salvation Army.

For anyone in a similar predicament, try placing a free Friday ad. Indispensable for people like me who need new stuff.  :)
