OK, if you are an employee, can I ask, where do you perform the duties of that employment?

In fact is that now all in the UK? Or do you actually do some work outside the UK?

And the money, do you leave it outside the UK, or do you remit it to the UK?

The duties are performed (via internet) with me in the UK. I do bookkeeping/payroll for my old company. So the work is performed wherever I am. My pay is direct deposited into a US bank account.  I receive a US W2 for the wages I receive.

Does the money stay in the US? Or do you later move it to the UK?

In other words, using the wording of UK tax law, do you remit the earnings to the UK?

I guess the answer is yes. I do use my ATM card to get money out and use it to pay for things in the UK.

Remittances are not relevant given that 100% of the work is done in the UK.  For both UK & US purposes your income is UK source.

As you are an employee subject to English or Scottish employment law your employer has an obligation to withhold & pay UK PAYE on your behalf - equally you get holiday pay, sick pay, etc under the laws of England or Scotland.
