Yeah! Me and my girlfriend talk all the time =D . I do miss her pretty much all day, and i do agree on this LDR does have to make the relationship stronger. Builds a foundation, actually get to know each other, talk..talking/communication is essential! Im new to the LDR, and so far has had its really hard moments. As others have said, its good to have goals, dates, visits lined up, a goal to look forward to. Looks like your well on your way to "seeing the end in sight!" This site is great!!

PS. i dont think its just a girl thing at all, i miss my girlfriend all day, and love talking to her as much as i can, helps since shes not physically here!

Its really refreshing to know that so many people are getting to experience the love and emotions I have for my mate, with theirs!  This is my first and only LDR, I would have never imagined in a million years this would have happened to me.  But he just came in my life so unexpectedly, and he and I have been madly in love since day one.  I guess the saying "loves comes when you arent looking for it"...is a true statement..cause I would have never looked across the Atlantic  ;D

yeah for sure. I was just minding my own business on a holiday in the Uk year ago..even had a gf at the time i met my current gf. Right off the bat i knew she was the one, was pretty freaky to be honest. I guess that saying "happens when you least expect it" or how do you know shes the one? "you just know" ....never believed those sorts of things, until now..i understand =D Funny how things work out! So yea....def didnt expect to be where i am now, but i wouldnt change it for the world!

I agree 100% with you Syntax.  I was the same way, never believed in "true love"...or love period.  I was a huge skeptic, and when people would say things like I now...i would be like uh huh..sure.  But the moment I met my fiance...it was like the scene from waynes world when he sees the girl and it plays "oh dream weaver" and time literally stopped.  ::)

When you know you just know...its a very overwhelming and insane feeling...to love someone so much

When you come over I would make sure your BF has paper work for you to take back that way you will not have to wait for the post get a list together of what you need to take back and email it to him so he can organise it.

If your worried about money when you get married ask for money instead of gifts that way you can use that towards the visa process not romantic but useful and helps the financial strain and we did this and everyone was amazing they understood why and that it was a far better gift as we a) could not bring stuff back with us b) the visa process gave us what we wanted and tha was to be together and it really helped.

Good luck I think most of us have been in your shoes my husband and I did this for over a year but now he has his citizenship and it is hard we had to really save but worth every penny, now we see each other every day lol and I am sure we could do with a break, lol.

Good luck with everything and keep hanging in there.
Wanting to sell and move to the US with my family, anyone wanting to move to the Worcestershire area please fell free to contact me.

Hey there, I didn't read all of the responses but I read your post and I can say I know EXACTLY how you feel. I mean my DH would stay up so late at night just to say good night to me when I would get home from work. I was so upset when we missed ONE day of speaking to eachother, but when he was diagnosed with cancer again - it kind of made it impossible to talk even every week. So now, I just realize how much I should have been grateful that I had any time at all to speak to him and I really do cherish any moment that is spent chatting to him. I'm applying for my visa soon so hopefully I'll be there with him soon :) And We've known eachother for about 7 years and have been seriously dating for 2 and engaged for 1 year. It's very hard being apart but I know that it will be so worth it when we are finally together and the same will go for you :) Good luck girlie <3 Xx*:..

Hi Erika,
I just found this sight a couple of weeks ago and I am right there with you. I married my husband in June and went over in July for what was supposed to be a trial visit. I had never been out of the country and wanted to see what it was like over there, meet the family etc. He has always said he'd come here if I wasn't happy. I was refused at the airport and only allowed to stay three days. Was told to come back and apply for a spousal visa.  I immediately did back in Aug. and as of now am still waiting.  Found out a couple of weeks ago, my app was delayed because they were looking into why it was refused.  Its been almost 5 mos. and living in limbo is sooooo hard. He came over for 3 wks. at Christmas and saying gooodbye again was so hard.  I have no motivation, no drive, and am so anxious and depressed.  I just want it to be over so we can start our lives together.  I know how you feel about crying yourself to sleep and wanting to chat all day. I try to be strong because I know he is having a hard time too but I've cried to him so much. Having no control really sucks. I just keep thinkin any day, any day.  I know I'm not the only one and it's a bit comforting.  Hang in there cuz i'm right there with you sister.
