Just FYI - uddercovers.com (hate the name) is doing a special deal if you choose a cover and enter the code "family2010" you only have to pay shipping. I'm still stateside, so I don't know if it will work for the UK.

Weird - at the sling meet I went to, it seemed like they talked about everything BUT slings!  Lots of general baby/mom chat.  Must be different whichever one you go to.

I thought it weird too. I thought that socialising was the whole point of these groups.

I love slings too!!  No slingmeets near me, it's a very un-slingy area here.  But I've made two non-stretchy wraps myself and have a Babasling for quick changes.  Would love to get a proper woven one, but can't afford it. 
I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that I don't know the answer.
