Whew!!!! I was panicking because I had sent my application off almost 2 months ago and had no news. I finally called my county board of elections (Maryland/Montgomery Co.) and found out that 1) they do not acknowledge applications (!!), 2) they had received it, and 3) ballots will be sent out in early October. So do be aware not all states/counties send acknowledgements. If you're worried, phone them!!!  ;D
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

How unprofessional of your former county to not send acknowledgments.  All they have to do is send the postcard attached to the form.  I got mine even though it didn't have any postage on it.

hmmm we get the government we elect huh...
sorry but what happened in the last presidential election... popular vote was for mr. gore but mr bush became president... something wrong with that picture
sorry i know this was off thread but i had to say it... i have voted in every election i mean EVERY election since i turned 18 but im not voting in this one cause i finally figured out that my vote DONT count... they dont have electrol colleges (spelling) in local government... people in local government win or lose by popular vote... same should go with the presidential ones... you want your vote to count  make them change the way they elect your president... then it will  sorry rant over
It's the difference between knowing the path and walking the path.

Lipstick? Where woman? There is no lipstick!
She wasn't kissing your lips my darling

What's it gonna be Merv?
Interesting deal
She'll do it. If she has to kill everyone in this room. She'll do it. She's in love.
*sigh*
It's amazing how the path of love is so alike to the path of insanity

I agree with you completely Jo, however I do still plan on voting in hopes my one little vote will somehow tip the balance in favour of who I'm voting for. Best I can do...but this is only my second election as my first was the last catastrophy! LoL
So close no matter how far, couldn't be much more from the heart and nothing else matters...
