You can't please everyone, that's the first thing you learn when planning any sort of wedding - eloping, destination, bi-countries. We chose to get married in the States and then me move to the UK because I have the stronger family network. My family could in no way afford to fly to England if we had went the fiance visa route so we got married here. His gran gave us a wedding gift and card and gave her full support and I believe once I get settled in hopefully later this year we will go out to a dinner with his family as a 'post wedding celebration'.
