Breaking News: Queen Stops Me From Getting A Burger
« on: June 10, 2016, 11:18:51 AM »
I woke up this morning with only one thing to look forward to all day at work, a burger at GBK for lunch.  As I write this, the queen is hanging out right in front of GBK!  They said something about her birthday, maybe she's going to celebrate it at GBK.  It would take forever to walk there because of the crowds and it's probably too crowded anyway.

I'm gutted.  Sometimes life in a foreign country is pure torture!

Oh! I would be gutted too! They were the best burger I'd had in the UK that I couldn't have semi-regularly. There's a Byron Burger in Derby, it's another good chain!

I made the mistake of putting British mustard on it, I had to drown it in ketchup. haha.

Definitely something worth posting about on social media like Twitter or Facebook, if you have one. That's liable to get a few likes. :)

(edited cause I didn't make a lot of sense...)

The usual. American girl meets British guy. They fall into like, then into love. Then there was the big decision. The American traveled across the pond to join the Brit. And life was never the same again.

It cost us the same price as when we went to GBK (gourmet burger kitchen) to eat there, and it's local to me.  Their burgers taste good, are cooked well (you get to choose how well you want it), and their fries are ridiculously thin and crispy and they're hot when you get them.

It's more expensive than fast food, but it's miles above them, IMO. I've only found GBK and Byron's to be burgers I'll eat, none of the convenience/fast food/pub burgers even compare.
