Adjusting again after divorce
« on: November 27, 2022, 02:48:55 AM »
Hi it’s been awhile since I posted on this site but found it really helpful on adjusting when I first moved here in 2002 and married a Brit. 20 years later I am now divorced. I have to say I feel a bit displaced in the U.K. now since the divorce. I have a kid so I will continue to live here but I felt like my ex was my inside view of the U.K.  I am quite settled with work and living here now but did have sudden feelings of what am I doing here again and missing my inner family in America during the divorce.
My home for 18 years since June 2002. Became a citizen 2006

Oh huge hugs. That must be so stressful. I can definitely think you'd miss family when you're going through something like that.  And now you've got to figure out life again, not just adjusting to being on your own, but also just because there were probably things he just 'did' and you never learned them on your own.  Adulting Expat 102, since you had 101 already with your 20 years here.  Hugs, hope we can help!

Huge hugs!  Divorce sucks. How old are your children now?
