Preparing for my first UK Spousal Visa - Document Check
« on: February 24, 2022, 08:47:31 PM »
I’ve spent the last two years reading all the various posts and responses and it has been so helpful and insightful. Now its my turn to post…

I married my partner earlier this month when he was in America on a visit. We started filling out the UK.gov application, and it generated a short list of the documents necessary for the FM Spousal visa. I know from my lurking on here that the list they provide is not the full accounting of all the documents that are actually required for the spousal visa. I would love it if someone could look what we’ve compiled so far and let me know what needs to be added.

Some background that might help: My husband has been employed for the past 5+ years for the same company and his base pay has been the same since April 2021 and is well over the financial threshold for the visa, however his wages fluctuate upwards with overtime and his actual pay each month adds up to more than what it states on the letter employment verification letter. We selected ‘Not the same amount continuously, above the financial requirement amount’ in the earnings dropdown, but I’m not 100% sure if that’s the correct option.

When they process the application, are they just verifying that he has earned more than the threshold over the past year or is the overtime discrepancy something that needs to be explained in a cover letter?

Here's the documents we’ve compiled so far:

Applicant Documents
Scanned bio-page of my passport

Sponsor Documents
Scanned bio-page from his Passport
Sponsor Letter (in progress)

Financial Documents
13 Months of payslips (31/1/2021-2/1/2022)
13 months of bank statements (28/1/2021-22/2/2022)

Employer letter dated 17/2/2022 stating all of the following:
i) employment and salary
ii) length of employment
iii) length of time earning current salary
iv) type of employment

A copy of his latest job contract
Last year’s P60

Accommodation Documents
A copy of my Husband’s latest annual mortgage statement
Land Registry Document (This wasn’t readily available online. The Council is trying to locate the document but we will have it soon)

Relationship Documents
Marriage Certificate
Divorce Decree from my previous marriage
2 photos of the two of us together
Screenshots of texts (about 1/month since Jan 2019)
A few screenshots from our Facetimes
A selection of boarding passes from our visits

I know most of this has probably been answered before, but I'm always worried that I've missed something and wouldn't mind another set of eyes to double check. These discussion boards have been invaluable with my planning this past year.
