Hi -- I left the USA when I was 22, so my USA tax knowledge is pretty basic. Generally my daughter just does FEIC -- she is a recent graduate, lower income lives in the UK. She said that she hadn't received the 3rd stimulus, so claimed it on her taxes this year.... we just "found" it in her USA bank account (no letter or anything, typical expat stuff) . When she tried to file amended on OLT, it says pay back the $1400 (as it assumes that the taxes have been processed and she has been double paid. which she hasn't as the refund has not been issued yet.) I read online that if they think they have sent it the IRS will send you a letter and reconcile it.... do you think she needs to do anything? Or just wait and see it pan out?
