FLR(M) - When did you enter the UK? question
« on: June 10, 2022, 08:50:06 PM »
Hello - applying for an extension of a spouse visa and a bit confused on what the correct response is for 'When did you enter the UK?'

I entered the UK on the passport version of the spouse visa in October 2019 and picked up the BRP card during that trip. I only stayed a few days and then returned to the US to pack up etc. before actually moving to the UK from the US at the end of November 2019.

Is it correct to write the October 2019 date for the question "When did you enter the UK?" even though I later have to note that I lived in the US until November 2019?

Any advice would be great, thanks so much!

Yes, you write the October date because that is the date you started your UK Residency and is also the date that your 5-year count to ILR began.

When it asks how long you lived in the US, you put until October 2019 because you officially moved to the UK and activated your visa in October… which means your trip back to the US between picking up your BRP and then flying back to the UK was simply a short visit back to the US.
