ILR Biometrics + request for further information
« on: August 18, 2022, 04:11:27 PM »
So we submitted our ILR on 22 July 2022.   Super Priority.
Biometrics today 18 Aug 2022.

On the way home received this:

Dear ********* ********
Ref: ****-****-****-****

We are considering your application and need further information from you. Please provide the following within 10 working days of the date of this request:

Bank statement for Lloyds account for the period 27 April 2022 – 21 July 2022
Bank statement for Citibank account for the period 01 July – 21 July 2022
If we do not receive anything within 10 days we will make a decision on the information we already have.

Please send your documents electronically to **********@homeoffice.gov.uk.

Please include your UAN and mark for the attention of ********

Please note as we have begun consideration of your within the 1-day service standard, we have met our obligations under the Super Priority service and you will therefore will not be eligible for a refund of the Super Priority fee.

The Data Protection Act 2018 governs how we use personal data. For details of how we will use your personal information and who we may share it with please see our Privacy Notice for the Border, Immigration and Citizenship system at https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/personal-information-use-in-borders-immigration-and-citizenship. This also explains your key rights under the Act, how you can access your personal information and how to complain if you have concerns.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We had previously submitted bank statements .
Lloyds 16Nov2021 until 15July2022  (more than £40k)
Citibank 01Dec2021 until 30June022 (more than £40k)
I like to have back-ups in place so I put 2 sets of financials into every visa application just in case one set fails.  I've always done this.

I have sent them the docs as requested but I am very puzzled why they want this and banks statements dated to within 1 day of the application. Is it a mistake their end or have I misunderstood something?

I am usually relaxed about this as I am quite organised but am now very jittery!!!! Ksand, Larrabee and KFDancer... any advice or guidance much appreciated

All the best,

Matt

I’m afraid I don’t really have anything useful to add.

This happens sometimes, and no one really knows why, so all you can do is send the requested documents and wait for the decision… which you’ve already done.

It may be that, if the documents were scanned at the appointment, they missed something. Or you including 2 sets of financials may have caused confusion when they scanned the documents.

Or if you scanned the documents yourself, maybe they overlooked/missed seeing some of them .

Ultimately, I don’t think you’ll ever know what the issue was… so you just have to do what they ask, even if it doesn’t make sense.

That's a real shame Matt. No-one needs this kind of stress.

But yes, all you can do is give them what they ask for and hope they get their act together quickly.

I'm really sorry.  But hopefully it won't take long.

So, am I correct in thinking there is no fundamental error my end?

i.e. this is an operational oversight in that they have not read the docs correctly?

Their request is outside the guidance and they are requesting duplicate docs...
Incidentally we paid the £48 Doc checking to Sopra Steria who told us it was all in order.

I don't see anything wrong with what you sent. Unless of course it did confuse them that you sent double, but it really shouldn't.

The statements cover more than 6 months, are over the financial requirement and are dated within 28 days of the application date.

Perhaps some of the paperwork may not have scanned correctly but it still doesn't explain them asking for statements beyond the application date. That's definitely an error on their part.

I suspect that they either didn't scan these statements or somehow missed them (maybe were loaded to an incorrect folder).

Bank statement for Lloyds account for the period 27 April 2022 – 21 July 2022
Bank statement for Citibank account for the period 01 July – 21 July 2022

But fear not, you've sent the requested bank statements, so you'll get your approval.

Submitted this.  The more I look at it the more I am perplexed why they want bank statements up to the day before Application.
Fortunately they arrived today so I can cover it.

Dear Sir or Madam,

Re: UAN ****-****-****-****  for attention of ******    Applicant:  ******* *******
Application Date: 22 July 2022

You requested additional information:
Bank Statement for Lloyds Account 27April2022 - 21July2022
Bank Statement for Citibank Account 01July2022 - 21July2022

For completeness and your convenience I attach:
Bank Statements for Lloyds Account 16November2021 - 15August2022
Bank Statements for Citibank Account 01December2021 - 31July2022

We understand both of these accounts separately and independently satisfy the ILR SET(M) financial requirement of savings in excess of £34,600 held for over 6 months.
It would be great if you can expedite this approval as soon as possible.

Ah, I know you’ll never do this again. But know the confusion could have been submitting multiple accounts when you only needed one.

They just want to tick the box.  You don’t get a bigger or darker tick for being able to tick more than one. Instead you confuse them.  ;D

You’ll be fine. Hopefully you’ll have your approval early this week.
