Accommodation evidence for spouse visa
« on: October 29, 2022, 11:38:01 PM »
I was wondering if a housing inspection report is required for accommodation evidence for the spouse visa. I did a search on here and couldn't find anything that relates to 2022. I am the sponsor (currently residing in the USA) and my husband is applying for the spouse visa next year.

We are planning to stay with my father who is the sole owner and occupier of the house since mum died. There is plenty of room (3 bedrooms) so there will be no overcrowding, and there is no mortgage as it is all paid off. I have the land registry document and my father will do a letter of invitation. He doesn't have a passport to prove citizenship.

Do we need a property inspection report? - there are such conflicting views.  Or is there anything else that we are missing?

Just trying to get prepared ahead of time.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

No, a property inspection report is not required.

You just need the Land Registry and the letter from your father.

Property inspection reports are only required for houses in multiple occupation. As mentioned, you do not need one when living with family.

That helps so much. Thank you so much ksand24 and Larrabee for clarifying, I really appreciate it.
