Thanks to everyone here for the support over the years. I'm not going to apply for citizenship for a while, the impact of the ILR application on my health was pretty significant. If anyone in the future needs to complete the KOLL waiver get in touch - they don't have published guidelines for it and they definitely should. But I learned a lot and I wouldn't want anyone else going through the experience I had.

Now to find an affordable and accessible home ... (Like a needle in a haystack!)

I had an immigration solicitor write a letter on my behalf and also contacted my MP, but the MP didn't do much - yours may be different. I tried sitting the test after they wouldn't accept the waiver... Failed as expected while getting quite ill in the process... And then they finally agreed to accept more medical evidence so I provided as much as possible but they decided the dates weren't recent enough, and that's when I sought help of a solicitor. So along with the solicitor letter and a new GP letter highlighting that my conditions are permanent and as well managed as possible, they finally accepted it. The solicitor pointed out the GMC registration of my GP, and the points of the KOLL waiver that are satisfied by their letter, my evidence, and the original submission.

They *really* need better instructions for the medical providers completing the waiver in the first place so this stops happening. I'm so sorry you're dealing with the distress too. Feel free to DM if you need more information.

If you have a severe disability that prevents you from being able to sit the Life in the UK test that is the waiver form that can be used. Unfortunately there is very little guidance for it, or what documentation should be submitted with it, and UKVI often just doesn't believe your doctors. The application is so much easier if you're able to take LIUK so I wouldn't recommend the waiver, but if your disability prevents taking it - it's the only option.
